Gases were determined, soil and three plant species (Conocarpus lanciflius, Eucalyptus camaldulensi and Suaeda vermiculata) leaves samples were collected seasonally from ten locations in west Qurna-1 Oil field from January, 2018 to December, 2018 to determine the concentrations of Total Petroleum hydrocarbon (TPHs) using spectrofluorometer, the aliphatic (nalkanes) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs) determined using capillary Gas chromatographic for soil and plants samples. Also, heavy elements (lead, nickel, copper, cadmium, manganese and iron) were determined in exchangeable and residual phases using flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer (FAAS). The total organic carbon (TOC) in soil and soil texture were also analyzed. Air gaseous pollutants such as (CO, CO2, NOX, SOX, H2S, CH4, HCs, and O3), and noise levels were also determined.
Diesel as a fossil fuel is a natural resource being highly consumed in the daily life. As much as this petroleum product benefits the essentials of industrial factors, it highly affects the environmental and health aspects of the human life. In addition, this source of energy is a non-renewable resource which could lead to extinction by long run. Alternative fuels are being developed, analyzed and modified to meet local, international and environmental requirements. The experimental work focuses on the behavior of a refined diesel fuel when nano-particles are added. Copper oxide was blended with diesel to give the nano-diesel being analyzed using a four stroke engine under two loads indicating light vehicles and heavy duty vehicles. The nano-diesel was prepared by the aid of an ultrasonicator and a mechanical homogenizer. The refined diesel was employed by MIDOR® with the standard physico-chemical characteristics of the refined diesel. In addition, copper oxide nano-particles were supplied by NanoTech Egypt for Photo-Electronics. A base diesel was taken as a reference to distinguish the affect of the nano-particles on the same diesel.

Biodiesel can be used in pure form (B100) or may be blended with petroleum diesel.In the Present investigation Biodiesel is being produced from waste Frying Soyabeen oil with the help of Transesterification process with Methanol and KOH as catalyst .Different blends of this biodiesel with petro diesel was being prepared (10%,15%,20%) and feasibility of these blends are being checked by performing different quality assessment test of ASTM like flash point,ASTM distillation ,Viscosity by Canon Fensky method, density , API gravity, copper strip corrosion,conradson carbon residual test, refractive index,etc.
The use of synthetic chemicals has created a numerous problems in the modern society. This book is a unique approach for the prospect of using natural additives for both water treatment process and petroleum operations. Heavy metal compounds and synthetic alkali are targeted in this book in order to remove and/or replace them with natural additives. For the removal of heavy metals (copper, cadmium and lead) from waste water, the potential of using maple wood sawdust as an adsorbent is successfully investigated. The Langmuir and the Freundlich adsorption isotherms model have been discussed thoroughly for different environmental parameters (i.e. temperature, pH, reaction time, each metal concentrate, adsorbent dose) to check the technical feasibility of maple wood sawdust as an noble adsorbent. On the other hand, maple wood ash is proposed for producing natural alkali that can offset the need of very high amount of synthetic alkali during enhanced oil recovery (EOR) operations. Eventually, the contents of the book discussed a series of experiments using environmental friendly natural additives on sustainable waste water treatment process and EOR operations in petroleum industry.
